FitBiz Basic #3:  Get A Business Email

Hey 1990 called and it wants it @hotmail address back ?? … but seriously, if you have a generic  @hotmail, @outlook or @gmail email address as your fitness business address then you’re doing your business a disservice.

These email addresses are good for personal emails (or those fakey ones you use) but NOT good for a business. It’s a small detail but one that can stop people from working with you.  If potential customers are weighing up between you and another persons services this detail can be the decider.

Especially if you are selling high ticket items.

For me personally, as soon as I see a [insert business name]@gmail contact email it’s a deal breaker.  It takes away from the brands professionalism and strength. It also discredits that business, since anyone and everyone can create one of those accounts these days,  it is more likely to be viewed as being ‘spammy’.

I’m not alone in thinking like this.  The results of a 2016 GoDaddy survey found the following:

It was also found that 75% of the 1000 polled adults “believe that having a business email address that matches a business website address is the key to building trust”

Let that sink in for a moment!!

If you’re freaking out because you’ve still got one of those emails then here’s what you need to do.

How To Change Your Email Address

First, go here  >>>  https://gsuite.google.com/solutions/new-business/

Open an account (yes you need to pay for this but it’s minimal) and claim your “x@yourbusiness.com” address.  It’s very simple and straightforward to set up.

Put your fancy schmancy new business email on allllll the things!  Add it to your:
